Plywood is a frequently used building material in the construction industry. It is formed by pressing wood fibers together crosswise. This cross structure increases its durability and prevents cracking. In construction, plywood is used for many different purposes:

  • Formwork Material: It is used as a mold during concrete pouring. Plywood helps the concrete to take its shape with its smooth surfaces and lightweight structure. Also, the formwork is easy to remove and can be reused.
  • Flooring: Used temporarily or permanently for flooring in construction sites. Its durable structure allows workers to work safely.
  • Wall and Ceiling Cladding: Since it is produced in thin layers, it can be used for wall and ceiling coverings. Together with decorative coatings, it provides an aesthetic appearance indoors.
  • Furniture and Decoration: Apart from construction, it is also used in furniture making and decoration projects. It can be used as a substrate in the construction of wooden furniture or can be designed directly as the furniture pieces themselves.
  • Exterior Facades: It can be used as a durable and lightweight material for exterior cladding. It is especially preferred in building projects because it is easy to transport and install.

Plywood is a widely used material in the construction industry due to its durability, flexibility and availability in various sizes and thicknesses.
